Christine Schmidt, pictured on the left, sold a blockbuster drug for a top global pharmaceutical company. That drug was later removed from the market . . . but why . . . Check out her novel “Death of a Drug” when she visits our store on Saturday, December 17 from 2:30 to 4:30. Christine had family ties in Manayunk when her great-grandmother lived here. She used to walk to church and bakeries and stroll along the riverside with her great Aunt Mary, who had possibly the most beautiful flower garden in her backyard in all of Manayunk.

Join us for First Friday in Manayunk, featuring the clever and eye-catching collage art of Greg Ephemera Trout. Friday, December 2nd, we are hosting a reception to launch the month-long showing of Greg’s art at The Spiral Bookcase. Opening night will feature brand new work for the show, and all pieces will be available for purchase.
As a special gift, twelve original limited edition bookmarks will be included with purchases of Greg’s work on a first-come, first serve basis. Light refreshments will be available.
