Book Signing and Storytelling with Wendy Welch!

Thursday, October 18th, 7pm

I am so excited for this upcoming event.  I just read The Little Bookstore of Big Stone Gap and I cannot recommend it more.  I even wrote about it here.  This book just tugged at my heart strings and I really would like to share it with all of you.

The Little Bookstore of Big Stone Gap is the little bookstore that could: how two people, two cats, two dogs, and thirty-eight thousand books helped a small town find its heart. It is a story about people and books, and how together they create community.

I am ridiculously excited to meet the author, Wendy Welch, and talk her ear off.   Wendy will be sharing stories from her book and signing copies for one night only!  Please join us for a fun-filled night of story telling, tea, and music.   For the time being – take a look at Wendy’s blog.  (A go to on those cold rainy mornings when I need a little pick me up!)

For the next First Friday in Manayunk, we are happy to feature artist Daniel Jason Decker. We are hosting a reception to launch the month-long showing of Jason’s stunning and awe-inspiring photographs at The Spiral Bookcase. Refreshments will be provided. Come on out and support local talent! RSVP here.

Bio:  Daniel Jason Decker is a graduate of Rowan University and is a talented freelancing graphic and web designer here in Philadelphia. Concentrating primarily in digital advertising and web based marketing lead Daniel to success, but left him yearning to create. His transition into professional photography from advertising has brought him full circle to his artistic roots in computer animation. The Art Institute of Philadelphia is where he studied the motion of the human figure and the importance of color, composition, and negative space. His photography exemplifies this and has been described as both imaginative and colorful.
