Chicago authors Halle Butler and Sooze Lanier will be reading at The Spiral Bookcase on March 4th.  It’s part of a tour JILLIAN, Halle’s book about liars, drunks, and secretaries, that the Chicago Tribune called “the feel-bad book of the year.”

Sooze Lanier is a writer, photographer, and maniac living in Chicago. Her first collection of stories, THE GAME WE PLAY, was called “deliciously painful” by Paste Magazine, and Joe Meno calls it “an outstanding debut that should reaffirm our shared belief in the absolute necessity and imaginative possibility of the short story.” Lanier’s work can be found in The Spoiler’s Hand, Hairtrigger, Hobart, Annalemma, and in collaboration with Yes Press Books.

Mike Ingram lives in Philadelphia and teaches at Temple University. A graduate of the Iowa Writers Workshop, his stories and essays have appeared, most recently, in The North American Review, Phoebe, December Magazine, and EPOCH.
